I just wanted to give you a heads up on what’s happening with Dai & Cath Woolridge/Going Public Theatre Company/Glenwood at present. I will hit the news to you in bullet point format for that extra kick of business like agenda…

  • If you’re not already aware most of my blogging/tweet time is spent up with #psweets, (psalm tweets; silent ‘p’) where I’m going through the psalms and tweeting one a day via twitter and re-capping on the blog over the weekend. I’m loving this at the minute and very much appreciate the positive responce. If you want you can follow me on twitter… http://twitter.com/daiwoolridge

  • Next Imagine is on in Glenwood on the 16th October…it’s a creative conference hosting Gerard Kelly; the author of twittergies, poet, church leader and international speaker. Its going to be a great day expressing how we can be creative in the church; and so we’re not ‘all mouth, no trousers’; we’ll also be showcasing some ‘creativity’ in the evening. This will include  me performing my latest show ‘The Tentmaker’; (also known as ”The Campmaker’… ‘The Tentfitter’…’and ‘The guy who puts up a gazebo for a living’). For more info click here

  • ThenCath will be launching her second album in the Gate on 10th December ; an album of welsh hymns revamped…its gonna be ‘gwych!’

  • And not forgetting – January and Febraury; Cath and I will be touring; she will be taking her album on the road and I will be RE-touring ‘The Tentmaker’. If you’re interested in having us, get in touch now!

That’s me out;

Cheers – ‘The Gasser’

Dai/Going Public Theatre Company News

So, its a new year and so its a great chance to look back at what happened last year. From September to November was relatively busy but when November left and December arrived – things took to a new level. As propably most of you know – Christmas is a busy time. Anywho, enough waffling – more highlights.

Ignite me Christmas – The Christmas Extravagenza began with the guys at Ignite…a modern version of the Christmas story along with picture aids of the ignite team. We had gems such as Gary, Nigel and Dai as the ‘Wisemen’ and John Lewis as an angel….yes!

The Ammanford Christmas meal – this was an event put on from our old home church, Cath and I went down to be the entertainment. It was an eventful evening filled with poems, songs, and turkey stuffing balls and performance pieces – along with a misbehaving screen who kept trying to hog all the attention!

Dai Hankey’s Carol Service – a carol service up Pontypool and i went along to give a couple of Christmas poems, including my most recent ‘The Ickle King Of the Crib’…in the words of the man himself….It was a great evening with Llanelli boy Richard Taylor giving the talk and some rocked out carols courtesy of Steve Haines. All in all Mr Hankey, it was cracking; ‘nice one bruv!’

The Bay Carol Service ala Rev Monica – This is great. It happens every year down on the Tesco stage in the Millenium Centre and put together by a wonderful lady ‘Rev Monica’. I went with my toured poem… ‘Ickle King of the Crib’

Christmas Eve Candle Light Service – A great tradition every year in Ammanford AEC – Sammy spoke well, Cath performed some great songs and the you know what poem made one final appearence.

And Last but not Least

Glenwood Carol Service – It was a busy end to the year and for me this had to be the highlight. Cath put together an ace version of a Sister Act medley with girls from the local high School.

 As for me, With lots of help to make it happen, I put together a Nativity Script and directed the budding actors at Glenwood to perform it. It was quite stressful, definately a journey and an experience, but it was most certainly worth it.
