Get God

Here i am experimenting with video – I wanted to put my peom ‘Get God’ to vid, so i did.

The poem’s wordplay on Getting God – first off asking if we can Fully get (comprehend) him and second to get God (to be in relationship with him and let him be priority 1) I love to try and ‘get’ the scope of his beauty, and even when i fail to reach it – it makes me realize how magnificent his love and compassion and sacrifice for me really is. And that’s pretty much why i ‘Got’ God…(or he ‘got’ me…please excuse me on the pre destination argument for this one)

So anyway, to make the vid – ‘Speily’ (Or Steve Speilberg to you), flew over for a few days especially to help me make this, so i hope you like it.

Just bear in mind – we only had a couple mill budget for this one – so if it didn’t smash box office records, go easy will you?

This is basically what i reckon God would say to us, if he could just drop us an e-mail, send us a text or leave us a voicemail today.

Its based on the great commission, him calling us to be salt and light, and the greatest commandment.

Let me know what you think.

Me waffling

About a year ago, myself and cath worked with a friend called Justin to put together short interviews along with a promo dvd of ‘Going Public Theatre Company’. This is my bit – first off…how long is my hair? Second off, for an actor and performer, i most certainly used the range of my voice didn’t i? Sure. I called this ‘me waffling’ cos…well i think you can put two and two together, but amidst the waffle, the stupid glasses and the david hasslehoff impression by the ice cream van – is a little bit of my heart – and for that reason, i wanted to post it up.

This was the first big project i did for Going Public Theatre Comany; Its an adaptation of The lion, The witch and the wardrobe by the big CS Lewis. I’d let an excerpt of the script explain the rest…

“Its called ‘the Tiger’ – cos its like a stripy lion, ‘the snitch’ – cos it sounds like ‘witch’ and get this bit – instead of calling the magical piece of furniture which gets them to Narnia ‘the wardrobre’ we thought we’d change it and call it ‘the chest of drawers’…cos its different form a wardrobe…different functions.”
